I\'ve just heard by AVM that my case has been aproved
as of July 26 (ciba please update your database)

My details: tt246 in ciba\'s list WAC-01-099
EB2(RIR), Country Other, PD Always Curent
RD 1/19/01, ND 2/8/01, FP done 5/2/01 as scheduled, AD 7/26/01

July 24 I spoke with IIO and asked if my case has been assined
and the answer was "No, we only received your FP few days ago July 13",
I thougt it would take, at best, couple of months, so it was a pleasant surprise.

To all the people on this forum my best wishes to get their cases approved very soon.

Lot of thanks and deep appretiation to Ciba for the truly amazing
work he is doing.

If I would have any political power, I would have been lobbying to
nomintate ciba INS commisioner or at least, head of INS Information Technology Department :-)

Another ND 02/01 approval? What is going on??? :-)
Congratulations, tt246. I don\'t want to be an IIO
working for INS since I usually have hard time
understanding those complicated immigration laws,
but thanks for the "nomination" :-)

I am happily updating your entry right now. Have
fun, and enjoy your post-GC life!

Nomination

Ciba !

What\'s wrong to be INS commissioner or
Head of Computer Department of INS ?
You will do what are doing now, but with government
pay and fat stock option package.

Can you imagine the day INS will go public ?
It will be the "IPO of the year" :-)
Nasdaq might go negative in after-hours trading.

So that, don\'t discard my nomination.

Thanks for your wishes and please, continue the admirable work you are doing.

Assignments and Approvals

Debo_nair!

It, indeed true, so as I said I was surprised.

BTW, 27 July was my birthday so may be INS decided
to give me a present :-) I can\'t think about better timing.

I would take this assignment vs. approval issue with certain grain of salt.

It\'s clear taht after FP is done it goes imediately to "National System" (or system 1) and then some additional "background"
checking happpens in few weeks or months before case arrived to "Local system" (system 2).

We don\'t know what\'s this additional "background" checking is(taxes ?, education ? company situation ? I-140 validity? the list is long), but may be for "straightforward" cases, after it\'s done, the approval is a mere formality and can be done in hours, while for other
cases some flags are raised so the officer can take a closer look and even issue RFE.

It also might happen that IIO I spoke with did a mistake: it was a lot of cases described when people spoke with different IIOs and get totaly conflicting info about the status of their cases.

Any way, I wish you approval will come soon, looks like if FP is in Local System it might come any time
