I am working in the US, my wife is finishing her PhD in Germany. Because of that, she cannot stay for too long in the US. I have filed I-140 (NIW) in May 2006, but not I-485 yet. I suppose she can get an H4 "dual intent" visa (I am H1B), come here and we can apply together for the adjustment of status with I-485. Could someone experienced recommend whether coming here and filing I485 is better than doing consular processing in Germany (only for her or for both of us). In particular, could you tell if:
1. The consular processing faster than filing I485 these days?
2. If she can sign all the paperwork for I485 and come/leave US on H4 while I would finish the paperwork and file I485 for both of us?
3. If she can do a consular processing, while I would adjust my status through I485?
