Recently my application for I140 was approved. My sixth year term on H1B expired and I came to Canada to work, my H1B extension approval for 7th year is still in processing and it's being over 3 months that I've been outside of US. I spoke to my lawyer and he tells me that I need to be inside US in order to file for my I485/adjustment of status and otherwise he cannot file. I do not want to miss the opportunity but at the same time I do not want to US so quickly as well. Can someone please guide me as to what I should be doing in order to get a Green Card with in the next year or so. Your help is much appreciated.
