My I-140 was approved on 10/12/2004. Nothing was happening on my I-485 so i calles USCIS on 11/23/2004. That evening i got an email that an RFE was issued on my and Spouses I-485. It was regarding birth affidavits. We submitted them to USCIS received on dec 3rd and LUD changed for 3 days after that. Since some people got their cases approved in a week after submitting RFE in a week i called USCIS again 0n 12/28/2004 morning. In an hour i received an email from USCIS that an RFE was issued on my I-485.
Now iam having doubts since twice when i called USCIS i got an RFE on the same day whether its coincidence or Intentional.

They might be referring to the same rfe as I have not hear of cases where in they have issued rfe twice. Once rfe is issued it gets approved.

I applied through attorney. This is second rfe. After USICS recived response to first rfe the online status message changed to on dec 3rd we recived ur response for rfe blah blah. Yesterday it changed to On dec 28th we issued a notice for futhee evidence.

Thanks

USCIS Number

I am totally new and even I cam e to know about this site also last week. What USCIS Number do we call to find status?
140/485 applied Nov'03. FP May'04

Also what do different acronyms used like LUD, REF, ND, RD, AP, AD, ST mean?

Thanks

I'm also fairly new but here's what I've surmised from reading the forum. LUD = last update date (found when you check your profile at the USCIS website); RFE = request for further evidence; ND - notice date for receipt of the petition/application; RD - receipt date for the application/petition; AP - advance parole; AD - approval date :) ; I don't know what ST means.

To get the status of your case, go to www.uscis.gov - click on "case status & processing dates" (under hot topics) - create a customer portfolio account - you can request email notification, view your case status for LUD, etc. May the force be with you.

I140/485/EB2 concurrent, ND 10/20/03, LUD 10/21/03 (140)
