I 485 RFE and Not renewd my Advanced Parole . Please help me.

I have applied for I485 in Sep 2001 and got an RFE for updated employment letter and proof of entry to US last month.
After applying I485, I got my EAD and AP. Then I had to go to UK for two weeks and I came back in Dec 2001. I have used my Advanced Parole when I came back. My AP expired in Dec 16,2002. I got my EAD renewed and it is valid till Nov 2003 but I did not renew my AP thinking that I might get my GC once I send the response to RFE. But my company attorny thinks that I may be out of status since my AP expired.
Can someone in the forum help me if they were in this status earlier? I am also trying to get opinion from a immigration attorney.

he is a jerk , You do't have AP does't mean that u r out of status. YOu are very much in status but u cannot go out of US . If u want to go then u have t oapply AP . AP is travell document and in no way connected to your stay here.
 
Thanks for your reply. I was also thinking like that and since I did not have any immediate plans to go out of US , I thought I need not apply for AP renewal.
But now I regret the decision. I should have applied and avoided this confusion.
