I-485 receipt notification

Hi,

My company\'s lawyer said it normally takes 4-8 weeks for the receipt notice of 1-485 filing to come in (gal INS processing center). Is this really true?

Also, what is the average processing time for I-485 in California?

I think the estimate of 4-8 weeks is correct. I have seen receipts come back in 2 weeks at times, but most often it is longer.

It takes 4-8 weeks to get 485 receipt, normally.
The 485 process time once was less than 3 months for some lucky applicants.

But most people with ND:10/2000 just start getting their FP notices. So, don\'t expect less than 5 months for new CSC applicants.
It is for "normal" case only, if any mishap occurs......

Hi all, My lawyer sent my I485 petition via certified mail back in 1/16/01 but hasn\'t received the receipt for certified mail, is this normal? Is there anyway I can check if INS has received my petition?
