I-485 receipt notification

Hi,

My company\'s lawyer said it normally takes 4-8 weeks for the receipt notice of 1-485 filing to come in (Cal INS processing center). Is this really true?

Also, what is the avarage processing time for I-485 in California?

Yes , It is true that the Receipt notice takes 3 weeks. My I-485 was filed on Dec 8th and I received the notice with the WAC number only on Dec 28th.

As far as processing time goes, I would like to know that as well. When I checked the visa bulletin , it indicated that the case date being worked on is July 27th\'2000
