I-485 Receipt not received

My attorneys mailed my I-485 packet to INS Vermont Center on July 16th '03. So far I/attorneys have not received the receipt.
My check has not been encashed either.
Has any one had similar experience ?
Has any one received the receipt from INS for I-485 application applied after July 16th '03 ?

My lawer sent i140/485 on july 24 th 2003 .My lawer sent me a mail saying he got the receipt .You can get better idea of how ppl are rcving notices on I140 forum for july to sept range now a days every body applying concurrently .

my company has received the receipt on 8/26.
Also I was wondering if anybody throw some light on the processing time for I-485 alone.
In my case I-140 was already approved years ago. I am only applying for 485 and EAD.
Is I-485 processing any quicker if 140 is already approved - any cases to get an idea of the time taken these days ?
Also someone mentioned that even if you have EAD and you lose your job (say after 6 months of applying for your 485), do you still need to find another job in 30 days to keep your status valid ?

485 approval takes from 20-21 months these days. It might become lot faster when your case comes for approval. I'm not sure if it would make any difference if i40 is already approved. It might be like old days when they were filed separately.
