Any Idea, what it can be..

My Online message changed to:
"Our last written notice in this case was returned as undeliverable by the post office on October 10, 2003. To update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283."

Our address in INS system is correct.. I called them and confirmed after changing my address.. (several months back before INS changed to BCIS), Even our EAD got approved and mailed properly.

Here is what happened.. I called BCIS for inquiring about my EAD after 90 days.. they took my EAD receipt number and said they will send info to someone.. then I asked about my 485 delay.. they took 485 receipt number and said she will add that info to the same message.. After 3 days my EAD got approved and after 7 days my 485 message changed as above.

If any one got similar message and found out what it is.. Please write your experience.
MY RD: Aug'01, ND Sep'01, FP: Dec'02. 3rd EAD 11th Oct'03.
Tracker name:KVNR.

I think your approval notice was returned to USCIS by postal department. Call NCSC and ask them to resend it to you. In the mean time ensure that you have proper label(last name ) on your mail box and also talk to your Mailman/woman.

I have the same message regarding my I-485 receipt. According to the message the USPS returned my receipt on Dec. 10, 2001. A few months after this I complained to my lawyer that I did not have a receipt and not even a receipt number. The lawyer obtained the receipt number from INS, but not the receipt. Earlier this year I called INS and asked if I could get the receipt. I was told that they only send it out once and if you don't receive it then you don't get it.
Why this happened? Probably because USPS made a mistake. I have been living at the same address for the last 66 months. SH1T happens.
It really irks me that BCIS will not reissue the receipt. I see many people here saying that BCIS asked for a copy of their I-485 receipt due to an RFE. What would I do if they asked me? It's not my fault that I don't have it.

Thanks..

Sounds like they are closed today (monday). I'll try again tomorow calling them.. If it is returned back.. logically they should have it.. they dont have to reprint I guess.. I dont know why they did not send you 485 receipt again.. Its hard to understand these INS people...
In my case if it is approval it is well and good.. but doesnt sound like that.. They never changed any message to approval before this message showed up.. Will update if I have any info in next few weeks.

I had similar experience. We never received our I-485 receipts, because then INS told my lawyer that they had mailed out the receipts and that's it whether you received it or not, it's not their fault that receipts got lost or whatever.
And our first AP approval notices also were returned as undeliverable and thankfully INS later sent them to our lawyer, although the they showed correct address underneath our lawyer's address label.

If TSC truely mailed you a notice that was returned as undeliverable then I wish you luck in getting them to re-mail it to you. They mailed a RFE for my 485 case on 08/Aug/03. I have not yet received this RFE. Obviously, it got lost in the mail. I called the customer service center as many as 10 times, mailed out as many as 6 letters to the TSC (1 to the director of TSC) and went through 2 US senators offices. After all this effort TSC still refuses to re-mail the RFE for which I have only 16 days remaining to respond out of the 12 weeks that are allowed.
I hope you have better luck in getting TSC to listen to you.

That is plain ridiculous.
How do those boneheads at BCIS expect you to respond.
Arcdocs, what are you going to do since you have no idea what is the RFE abt?
All the best.
