My I485 was filed on 31/Oct/2001. I have a valid H1-B visa and H1-4 for my wife and kids till 01/Aug/2003. My wife and kids have gone to India on Parole, which is valid up to 02/Apr/2003. They plan to come back before it expires. The reason for sending my family for such a long period of time is to take care of my mother, who is suffering from kidney failure.

I would like to find out the options for my and my family green card stamping, which might be due within 2 months.

1) Shall I get my green card stamped or wait for my family to come to US and stamped our passport at the same time.
2) Can I request INS for sending their file to India and get it stamped in India and my Green card stamped in US.
3) I am planning to visit India in Dec’2002. Can I request INS to send all our files to India and get it stamped in India.

And also can you please let me know the best thing to be done under the situation which I am. Thanks for your time.
 
Dont try that

There is nothing like "asking the INS to send the files to India"..It is called Consular processing.

So please dont change anything, wait for UR aplication to get approved and then get UR family here for a week or 2, get stamped...and go back...
 
Stamp yours

My opinion would be to get yours stamped first - while you are here. Your family can get it stamped when they come back.

Check with your attorney as well.
