I -485 Put on Hold

Hi,
My husband is a US Citizen and he applied for family based Green Card for me in first week of January 2009. I also gave the Finger printing couple of days back..The Online status for I-485 shows that REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD since today. I have not got any notice regarding this yet. Can you tell the reason why I got this status

you got a RFE(REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE)i guess you saw that message at your online portfolio at the USCIS website,that means they sent in the mail a letter that will explain what they are seeking from you.don't wary a lot of people have RFEs.your case is on hold until USCIS receives those RFEs.good luck

I got the same thing

I checked my status online today and I got the same message, "REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD." I filed around Jan. 2009 also and got fingerprint around Jan 2009. I haven't got anything at all by mail either and it's been a month since that RFE message.

If it has been 30 days, there is a no. on your NOA, call. I had such an update but never received the RFE. But it wasn't an important form. I called every 30 days like 4 times... everytime they'd tell me they will send... nothing. Eventually, I just printed the notice and attached evidence and sent to where i sent the initial one. Luckily, it was a simple form that needed only one kind of evidence, so i knew what I could attach without their letter. Later, I figured they never sent that RFE to begin with.

I will say, just call them. Don't do what i did, that was a 102.
