I-485 processing

Hi All

I have been tracking my case status + another case status (both I-485). Our EAC #s differ only by one number, but same notice date (March 04 2002).

Today when I checked that EAC#, this case was transferred to local BCIS office. The reason being Finger print Identify (I think, coz this case had Fingerprint-Ident. status.). As you all remember earlier INS use to show this online and then they removed it from web.

Does this mean they have started looking into Jan- feb 2002 cases also ?

If this is the case then we all will see approvals within few weeks (too optimistic ):)

I hope you are right, but I almost think that whenever an I-485 case raises an early alarm (like fingerprints found in FBI database) the INS pulls the case out and transfers it. In other words, the INS is not working on Jan/Feb cases as a role, they are only pulling these problematic cases as soon as the INS learns of anything suspiscious.

Hi Helge

INS knew abt FP status since May 2002, but only on march 7th 2003 they transferred this case to local INS (BCIS).

If you read SOP document which was posted on this web site earlier, it says at the time of adjudication if FP is found in FBI database, the case should be transferred to local INS.

i.e. they are processing cases from JAN-FEB also.

Anyway good luck to all of us, for speedy approval.

Cheers :)

Abhay, I really hope that you are correct!!! Atleast you have enlightened my day atleast by giving me this hope. Thanks!!

Just want to get over with this shit, don't care about the final result....whether approval or denial!!

Abhay, I didn't realize that the fingerprint ident for that other case came up last May. In this case, I really think your are right with your theory. That's really good news! By the way it is not the first time that the INS picked up steam and approved a couple of months worth of I-485s all within just one month. Let's hope they are doing it again!

We know there are lots of people before us in line for GC, but we'll get it one day. Cheer up man:)

You are right, they have done parallel processing in past and they might have started again :p .

Guyz i believe there are 2 check being done. One early part of last year when FP was done and the second in the last part of last year.
I recall when I contacted INS last November. They told me that my file had not come back after FBI checks. This was after the initial check had been done and an RFE was generated and replied to.
Perhaps it could be that not only RFE cases were being rechecked but all cases were being rechecked.
I don't mean to put a damper on your enthusiasm just my 2 cents.
