My wife and me both applied for I-485 in Nov 1999. Mine is approved in March 2001, but my wife case is still pending. My attorney is constantly sending inquiries to the INS but of no use. So far we applied for 3 EAD's and 2 finger prints. Can anyone give me an advice about other options to speed up this process. I hope this might be the oldest case at the INS, Texas center. When we call INS they are telling that case is still in process.

You really have to talk with IIO again.
Attorney will not care much on your case, payment cleared, very simple.
Before, congressman can help on this kind of old case but recently INS simply ignores any inquiry.
When you call again ask them if they still have the case (not only in computer but also the paper files). I guess it's lost or hidden at a dark coner which nobody will look at.

If your attorney is a member of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association (AILA) s/he can go to the AILA Liason Officer for help. This officer has direct, high up, privileged contact with the INS. Normally, INS has certain escalation which need to be followed prior to the Liason Officer getting involved. If I were handling the case, I'd want to get the matter resolved so that I could close the file. Three years is far too long.
