Hi Guys,

My case was transferred to local office in May 05 and I had an interview on August 2005. My case was not approved becuase of pending background checks.

Folks, I have tried everything, contacted Senator's, contacted Congress men, worte many letters to David Hardy's office, send emails nothing has happened, did not receive any response and the bottom line is this case is still pending.

My freinds are suggesting to file a law suit against INS that could force them to open my file (recently one of my freind got approved that way).

I need your suggestion, please give me sincere advise, what should I do now. It is really frustrating to see folks who applied with me are eligible for Citizenship now.

Anybody else is in similar situation.

Please advice.

Have you called Vermont recently and asked them about your name check? Do this. My case has been pending because of the name check, but it's cleared now. I'm going to make an AILA status inquiry through my attorney - then if nothing happens, I'm planning to file a law suit.

What is AILA status inquiry? My case is transferred to local office, do you think I should call Vermont for name check status?

Oops, sorry, I've missed the part about the local office transfer. Then make an INFOPASS appointment and ask them in person.

AILA status inquiry is made through your attorney and goes to VSC Liaison Committee member. I guess, in your case (local office) your best option is to file Writ of Mandamus
