I-485 Pending for more than a year

My I-485 application (WAC0405xxxxxx) is pending since Dec. 2003. My I-140 (EB-2), applied in Sept. 2003, got approved in Sept. 2004. Numerous inquiry to CIS produced stock replies ("Your case is under detailed review. Please give appropriate time"). Finally, I sent an email to FBI to see if Name Check was done. They replied after a month saying that Name Check is pending.

Is there anybody else in a similar situation? What can I do to speed the process up?

What info is required

Hi,
Saw your post and mine is 485 recepipt date end of Nov. 2003. My lawyer sent couple of inquiries on the 485 requests and got a response with "detailed review". How did you make the inquiry to FBI, what is the process and what is the template to make one..Do they appreciate people writing to them like that.. ( I mean I haven't done it ever)..after all its FBI right...
What all information is provided to them.. And what is next for you...can you do something to trigger any next steps....
