I was wondering if someone has some advice for me.
I got sponsored for my green card by my former employer (whilst on H1B). All things worked out fine (I-120 approved) and my I-485 (EB 3, Europe) was submitted in Sept '07 when they briefly opened up the flood gates. I received my Employment Authorization Card (EAD) which was great because the company I worked for went Capter 7 bankrupt last spring. I looked around for work but didn't find anything that suited me. I decided to start my own company (0 employees) and have a fair amount of work (approximately the same revenue as prior paycheck).
So my question: is there anything I can do to get to my green card any sooner than to wait another 5+ years? I'm trying the DV option, but that is obviously not guaranteed. Can I somehow push myself into a EB2 or EB1 category (after all, for my company I am a VIP).
