guys please help (Part 3 --> processing information)

As a Canadian citizen on H1B visa, what should I fill out for:
1) Non-immigrant visa number
2) Consulate where visa was issued
3) Date visa issued
4) Place of last entry into the US

#4) i have found that from many other responses that I can fill out where my immigration processing was done (ie. Toronto airport). So I am kinda sure about that question. However, i am not sure about 1, 2 and 3. I never went to a consulate and I was never given a visa. I mean, i went to the airport with I-797C for H1B approval and I was given a I-94 with 3-year expiration date of my H1B. So what is my nonimmigrant visa #? So also, since i don't have a visa, can i leave these 3 questions blank and not fill anything? or should i write N/A.

I have read at several places that immigration officers don't like N/A response. They perceive N/A response as if applicant is trying to hide stuff. That's the last thing i would want to do (make IO suspicious)

Please help.

Also, can we send personal check made out to US Dept of Homeland security or does it have to be money order or cashier's cheque?

Hi there!

I am a Canadian too, although I've never been on an HiB visa (my status prior to GC was F-1). So, first of all, while filing my application I remember in te instructions reading many many times to NOT leave any field unfilled ... so, for places that do not apply to you, you SHOULD fill as N/A. Looking back through the copy of my I485, this is how I filled out:

Question 1: N/A (AS A CANADIAN CITIZEN, I DID NOT NEED A VISA)
Question 2: N/A
Question 3: N/A
Question 4: Champlain-Rouses Point (NY)

For Q1, you already include in the G325 form the information that you are a Canadian citizen and it is common knowledge that canadian citizens do not require a visa. For Q4, to my knowledge, it literally means the port of entry where you entered the US LAST TIME! It does not matter were your immigration apers where processed, unless the time you claimed your H1B status coincides with the time you last entered the US. In addition, if you think there is a chance that you don't completely understand the question and that another answer might be the right one, you can always add an "continuation sheet" with the proper explanation. Make sure that on the continuation sheet you are very clear to which form and question the explanation pertains to. Personally, I added a bunch of such sheets. Did not want to take any risks. Good luck!

hey thanks fushy!!! I really appreciate your response. CONGRATS on ur welcome letter :)

If you don't mind me asking, what was your category type (meaning married to US citizen, son/daughter of US citizen or employment based).

thanks again.

Also, you can sent personal checks as long as they are drawn from a US bank and payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security. That's what I did and I could see when the checks were cashed using online banking. :)
