I still cannot believe it but the 'approved' emails are still in my inbox. The USCIS is moving with the dates. I am ready to move to the next stage in my life!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Here are my details:
I485 RD 28DEC04
I485 AP 11APR05 (email)

My I140 was approved beforehand. I did not get a biomatric FP, only the regular one but they have my prints from my travels. I hope they just send me the card, without needing to go thru PP.

Not really true, its all screwed up and its more or less a luck issue, because its the FBI that is now delaying the processing by not providing timely response to the namechecks that possibly need manual intervention. The only cases that are getting processed are those that the FBI has responded postiviely or negatively (either ways does not matter), INS just needs a response from the FBI to continue with your case.

In a way the FBI can get away with that because the INS probably does not breath down their necks to get the namechecks done, obviously they wont do that, they most likely joined the INS coz they did not want work related tensions day in and day out.
I apologize for being such an asshole, but , the fact is that there is nothing that i can do to kick the FBI's rear to get things going... writing letters all around may or may not help but the point is that it is the INS who should be doing that not us. We paid a fee for processing the I485s more importantly most of us have made a lot of sacrifices just to make a future in this country and apparantly the people working on our cases have no respect for that.
At this point, i am really mad and cant figure out how to get my namecheck done, the assholes seem to have no policy over the how the namechecks are done. My wife's name check cleared and mine is still stuck inspite of the fact that i have NEVER been arrested, NEVER ticketed, NEVER cited, NEVER fingerprinted (except for I485), NEVER in an accident at my fault.

I understand your frustration on name checking. It really doesn't matter with your history, how good or bad you behaved. It's your NAME! If you have very common name, I guess, it would take longer time for name checking. The worst case is that your name (even similiar) is in their black list. Man, you will stuck forever.

Guess what, my first name is not very common, and my last name exists only in my family, the combination of the two make me a rather uniquely identifiable person atleast on the internet all references to my name point to something that has to do with me. I could not locate any other person on atleast on the net who had the combination of my first and last name neither have i ever heard of anyone with the same name combination either.

Congratulations GCWaiting03! You gave me some hope!!

My LC was before yours in Jun-2001. And I have pre-approved I-140 like you. I-485 RD was just a few days later in Jan-2005.

I got my FP and so did my wife. But, my wife got another FP which was Biometrics Code 3 (US Mail; but, no email or LUD) and I didn't get it yet after six weeks. I am worried that mine might have gotten lost in the US Mail. Or USCIS has not sent me the US mail though they intended me to get the biometrics done, as the person who sends notifications may be different person from the processing officer. I haven't travelled after VISIT system was put in place.

My first name is very rare one. My last name is also not so common. The combination is unique on People Search. I don't think mine would have gotten stuck in the namecheck process. Don't know if there are any other checks!

I don't understand what is delaying my GC!!

on a lighter note...donkey kong should be a unique name...that the #$%^ is wrong with FBI.

it is a nexus between FBI and CIS. btw try this: http://www.peoplefinder.com/ and see how unique your name is?

All i can say is that the people who answer the emergency phone told me that they cannot process my wife's application until and unless my name check was cleared.
I am the primary while she is a dependent...however i have come across posting that indicate that this constraint does not always hold true.
