I-485 - Medical Exam - TB Test

I know that X-Ray test follows after TB Skin test is +ve. But, how does this impact our I-485?

If some one diagnosed +ve after X-Ray/Skin test and if the treatment is needed, that treatment is 9 months long (my elder son went this cycle when he is supposed to start his school).

I am worried, how this process/results will impact our I-485?

Can we apply for I-485, even if the result is +ve? Or do we have to wait for the completion of treatment?

Thanks

Hi FunLover2000,

I have a similar issue. My wife and daughter were diagnosed +ve and have successfully gone thru' the treatment and got a certificate from the local county health Dept. Would that certificate be good enough when we go for the medical exam and would the skin test be waived for them. This is because as far as I know once you test +ve and even get treated you will always test +ve in the future.

Anyone having anymore information on this, pls respond

Thanks

Go_green,

Its true that once you are +ve, you are always +ve. Yesterday my son, who took 9 months course is +ve and the doctors informed this. I don't have his record that he used medication.

YDay went for X-Ray and eagerly waiting for the result. I don't know if X-Ray is +ve, does that block applying for AOS. Any one please?

FunLover2000,

Thanks for the info. Did the doctor test your son again because you did not have the record for his treatment? Wondering if he would do that if there is an official record from the local county health dept.

Thanks

Go_green,

My wife had TB Skin Test 9 months before. They tested her again stating the test is not done in the same calendar year!!! The doctor surely has no financial benefit for testing again (Ours is flat fee including vaccinations). So, my son's TB test (about 5 years) has no bearing. This is all simple stupidity.

If US want to spread the diseases, that should be done at the entry itself. Not after several years and not with the stupid rules.
