I-485 LUD changed. I see some movement !

Hi Guys,

I wanted to let you all know that soon after the today's Visa Bulletin i went online to check my portfolio on the USCIS website. It showed me the LUD for the today's date. I was thrilled to see that some movement is happening. My case details are as follows:

Service Center : Nebraska
I140/485 Concurrent Filing : 22 MAR 2004
I-140 PD 30 Apr 01
I-140 AD 13 Oct 05
EAD/AP AD 11Dec2005
FP done with code 1 and 3 MAR 2005
Latest change: LUD for the I485 05/12/06

The message in the LUD remains same but still i think they have started to open the case for the pre-adjudication. Wish me luck !
 
LUD = Last Updated Date

It is the date displayed in your online portfolio of the cases you have filed with USCIS. The change in the LUD means that USCIS is looking in your case for processing reasons.

Yes thats correct ... LUD at this point means that -- Ur 485 has become approveable -- and they its on the "TO GO" table :)

You should hear some good news in weeks .. as most of the 485 are preAdjucated - awaiting visa numbers.

Purethoughts, did you configure the system to auto e-mail you notifications ?
Or in order to see this type of LUD changes you have to check online at USCIS.gov ?
 
not all LUDs are in e-mail

You will e-mails of "major" actions only i.e. change in message only.

You will not get an e-mail if the file has been touched but there is no change in message. To track that, you need to login.

How sure are you on that most of the 485s are preAducated - awaiting for visa numbers, they may not have started working on those case because of retrogression. Is there any news?

I don't think that it is true. They will start working on the cases that they know will be eligible for the visa numbers. So if you think that your PD is very near to become Current then it your case will start showing some activity.

gcstrat is also correct in the emails notification things, it will only send you the email if the message is changed. It means that there can be two activities on you case either they are looking on your case or they are editing the case status. When they are looking on the case (i.e. if all the FP is done, Medicals are there etc. etc.) the LUD will update but it does not change the message since there is no action taken in your case. Once they take some action they need to notify you, so you LUD and the message will also change.

I hope this helps to other people who are newer in this Retro world.
