Hi All,

I have a few questions which are fairly simple but I couldn't find their answers online.

1. I have filed for I 485. What if there is a retrogression again. Would they stop processing my application (name checks, fingerprints etc.) or stop everything until my date becomes current.

2. I want to change employer due to family reasons, I read somewhere that I can change my employment after 6 months. Do I need to find a job with the same job description or I can change to any job? I have filed for EB3 long time back, but now I am working on a much senior position.

3. If i change job, what would be my future employer's role in I 485 process. What if my current employer withdraws this application if I quit the job.

4. Finally a worst case scenario, what if I get fired before six months of I 485? what are my options then.

I would really really appreciate answers to these question. My whole family life is at stake.

Thanks

Hi All,

They can only approve you the time your PD is current. Otherwise, they will pre-approve you and waiting for a visa#.

2. I want to change employer due to family reasons, I read somewhere that I can change my employment after 6 months. Do I need to find a job with the same job description or I can change to any job? I have filed for EB3 long time back, but now I am working on a much senior position.
Once you I140 is approved and I485 has been filed more than 180 days, you can execrise the right AC21 to change the job. Also, your new job should be within the same job catergory. I have been told, salary, location and title are not much concern when using AC21

3. If i change job, what would be my future employer's role in I 485 process. What if my current employer withdraws this application if I quit the job.
I485 process is belonged to you, so your employer will not able to do anything.

4. Finally a worst case scenario, what if I get fired before six months of I 485? what are my options then.
Well, try not to... Have you read the sticky?
