I had my I-485 interview on August 8, 2006. After that, I got a letter from the Baltimore office requesting for a copy of my date of birth certificate. On September 1, 2006 I sent them an affidavit signed by my sister (since both my parents are dead) affirming my date of birth (I don't have a DOB certificate in my possession). I also included a couple of educational documents showing my date of birth.
It's been over 3 weeks since then. I haven't heard from USCIS at all. Also, the case status online shows that I-485 interview was conducted and a decision would be issued soon but for I-130 it still shows that my application was received in March, 2006 (no progress since then).
When I checked the processing times, it appear that the Vermont office is currently processing I-130 dating back to October, 2005. My I-130 application was made in March, 2006.
What happens now? Do I have to wait for the I-130 processing before I get my green card even though my I-485 interview was conducted in Aug 06?
