Bear in mind that rules changed on July 98. Not all the applicants will be interviewed (as opposed to applications filed before July 98). Only 2% of applicants randomly selected will be interviewed, and those that INS determine require an interview.
So, most of the applicants that filed after July 98 will be approved without interview. It would be a great new for all of us to know that INS is really moving along.

If you are not among the 2% randomly selected (nor among those cases INS decide to interview)the next step is receiving a notice for fingerprinting. Then, after FBI clearance I believe the next step is receive an approval notice (the message in the AVM will change to "this case has been approved"
. Then notification for passport stamping will follow.
So, it doesn\'t surprise that some people get interview notice and others that filed before don\'t get anything. The interesting thing is to know what is the filing date of applications that INS is actually processing. It could be that they are scheduling interviews for those cases that will have an "approvable status" in the next FY (to start next October 1st). I hope Bobbie will continue posting his experiences.
