I-485 Inquiry at USCIS...

Hello -

Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience...

My I-485 RD is March 26th 2003 and PD is August 2002 (other details below). So last week I called USCIS and inquired about my case. The Customer Service Rep was very polite and said she will send an inquiry to the Nebraska Center for an update. Then today my case status is saying the following...

"On June 20, 2005, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283".

My question is : what does this response usually have ? and I hope it does not mean that they have stopped processing my case or something.

Just anxious to get this mail from USCIS and figure out whats going on...

I-485 RD : March 26th 2003
PD : August 2002
Currently on my Third EAD
Second FP : December 2004

Pretty general stuff like your case is with an officer, it is pending, going through preliminary inspection, blah, blah, blah.....just keep your fingers crossed.
 
Sounds like an RFE. But I could be wrong. One way, it feels good to have an RFE, if we are in a position to answer the question and it is something answerable. So that, the case will gets approved.

It's not an RFE, it's just what it says. You made an inquiry about your case status and they responded to it.
 
yes, Itz not an RFE, just a general stuff, you might receive another letter about status,

Here is what my experieance. we enquired about Fingerprint update for my wife's case first I received a same letter, later after two weeks I received another letter which stated everything is good in my case and only obstacle to adjudicate my case is unavilabiltiy of visa number

so this gives me good feeling,

Hi,

You might have talked to customer service rep that your I-485 date is passed and they might have triggered an internal enquiry...for which INS might have responsded with visa availablity issue which they might have informing you through this letter. Please update what you got from INS...so that it will be helpful to others.
