I have the same problem. The only difference is it's for my mom.
130/485 receipt notice dated 12/08/2005 and I got letter dated 2/28/2006 which is an intail interview. We never got FP letter. Don't know if it ever send out. My mom's interview is scheduled on 4/27/2006 in newark, nj. When and where is your interview? If yours is early than mine, please post what happen?
Also my mom does not speak english, can I be her interpretor. I heard no family can be interpretor. Is it true?
What are they going to check during interview for parants?
Thanks.

My case is also similar. I've applied for my mother and it looks like FP notice is not going to be sent. I've been calling and writing to every one to make sure that FP is scheduled before interview. I am pretty sure now, if I didn't take any efforts, I will receive the interview notice in April ahead of any thing else, which is going to delay approval.
The same thing happened to Lily here, her DO is Newark.

I know from your post in Ron gotcher's site, that you sent a letter to MSC regarding FP notice. But just don't count on them or wait for them to respond - it might take forever. I would suggest that you make an InfoPass appt at USCIS website for Newark DO. When you meet with an officer there, tell him that the interview is scheduled for already, but no FP notice yet. I've heard that they are not very helpful at scheduling FP. But it's upto you.. When I go for the InfoPass appt, I'm going to try with all my might to speak to a supervisor at the DO. If you are lucky, the officer at InfoPass may initiate a request for FP notice.
One thing I want you to know - if the FP appt has to be scheduled only at the time of interview as in Lily's post - with Newark being the busiest, it takes a couple of months to schedule it and then the DO waits for the Name check results, after FP results are sent in from FBI. This adds a few more months to your timeline before approval, on an otherwise normal case (ie. if case is not stuck in name check process).
Just imagine, if all this is done prior to interview, you just get the approval during interview and no need to wait any longer.
Yes, you can be the interpreter at your Mom's interview. The relationship is not a bar.
For the interview, if you take originals of all the docs that you submitted with I-130,485, 864 etc., that should be enough. In a previous post by someone who took their Mom for interview at Newark DO, no questions were asked and PP was stamped with approval - but they had FP done within a month of Receipt notice.
