I filed I-485 in July 2003. The Interview was in August 2005. The officer told us that it takes about 30 days to get a decision but I have not heard anything since. When I checked my receipt number online, this is the message I got:
On December XX, 2005, your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received here for processing. It is taking between 270 and 300 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.
When I called the 1-800 BCIS number, an customer representative told me that my case has been transferred to California for processing due to a high number of applicants in NY.
Does anybody have an idea they transfer cases dues to a high volume? Also, is anybody in a similar situation regarding his or her interview which took place several months and still has not heard from the BCIS?
Thanks for any input.
