Hi,

There is a new process from Dec.1st 2004 that one needs to file their 485 and 765 to Chicago Lockbox instead of subimitting into district office.

Now my simple concern is, if you are married to a USC and need to file all three forms I-130,485 and 765; do all these 3 form goes to Chicago Lockbox or to your local district office ?

I am sure there is a quick answer to this concern.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

So do you mean I should send the application to Chicago Lockbox right ?

It Depends on where you are...

Hello,

I'm in this boat too, and currently attempting to figure this out. For now it seems clear, but I was hoping someone on this forum can confirm my interpretation:

If you in the list of states for phase 1 (which is supplied in the pdf link above), ONLY THEN do you send it to the Chicago address specified in the previous email. If you are in the list of states for phase 2 (incl Alaska, California, etc), you will still need to send it to the local office, except if you are in the Baltimore District - mail it to the Vermont center. See the link below for this information:

http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-485.htm#fba

The entire package listed in the above link must be mailed to the center as applicable based on above rules.

I think this answers your question, but it would be nice if someone who has some experience with this can verify the correctness of this...

Thanks,

Ashwin

Hi, Go ahead and submit all three forms to the Chicago Lockbox. I submitted them (I-130, I-485, I-765) all to the lockbox at the end of December 04 and received all three of my status notifications during the first week of January 05. Right now, I am scheduled to have my Biometrics and Fingerprinting for my I-485 and I-765 done next weekend at the ASC.

I assume the Lockbox is only for Family based applications. If you are employment based applicants, u need to submit it to the processing cennters (like Vermont) (This is the info I've received from my lawyer and they send my application for 765 and 131 to Vermont center)

I did this first week on January.

Hello,

I am in the process of filing I765 with employment based Adjustment of Status pending. From your message above I understand that I need to file with VSC. I was just wondering whether VSC successfully processed your application so that I can safely asume then the filing to VSC is correct.

Thanks in advance.

I applied to VSC center. They cashed my check and I got my EAC numbers. That means that they accepted the applns.
