I-485 filing and Name issue

The names i have used in the below descriptions are dummy names just to explain the matter...

My wife's name in the marriage certificate, birth certificate and first passport is Joshi Diptiben Ramanlal
My full name is Doshi Rakesh Shankar
After marriage she got a new passport. In the new passport her name became Doshi Dipti Rakesh ('ben' is removed from the first name). Indian consulate officer has stamped and signed this change saying passport holder 's name(Joshi Diptiben Ramanlal) has been changed to Doshi Dipti Rakesh because of marriage.

We are going to file I-485. In the application, her name would be Doshi Dipti Rakesh. Her first name in Birth certificate and marriage certificate is Diptiben. Can this be a problem? What precautions should I take to avoid any RFE. I would appreciate your help. Our 485 filing is waiting on this issue, please share your experiences, it would useful.

My wife had the same issue. She comes from similar backgroung and used to have her Father's first name as her middle name (Name1).After marriage she dropped the middle name altogether and changed her last name to my last name(Name2).

For her H1B we submitted all her educational certificates and birth certificate with Name1 but passport had her Name2. We were told by our attorney that an affidavit from Father in law and another from my wife will be sufficient.

We did exactly that . Submitted affidavits stating that all these names belomg to same person.

H1B has been approved.
 
....and to add what ana2908 said, there will be a column 'Other names used' in 485. You can list your wife's original name in that space.

Should not be a problem. Just keep passport and I-485 names same. Regarding birth certificate, you can obtain affidavits from her parents/relative with her new name. But I don't think it's necessary at this moment.
