I filed for my I-485 (EB1B) in the last week of June with a pending I-140 filed in November 2008. On July 14th my I-140 was approved. Will I have to inform USCIS about the I-140 approval with a letter and a copy of the I-140 approval notice? Or will they figure it out that the pending I-140 at the time fo I-1485 filing has now been approved, link the two files and process the I-485 case?

I have an alien # from a previous EB2-NIW approval and the alien # on the new EB1B I-140 approval notice matches the NIW approval notice.

Thanks

Congrats on your EB1 approval! Yes, just interlink and you will be fine. My close friend and colleague just did that (he had a previous I140 approval from NIW).

Cheers!

I never filed for 485 based on the NIW approval. I filed 485 in June 2009 with a pending EB1B I-140 that was filed in November of 2008.

My NIW was approved in April 2008 but never filed for 485 based on the approval.

Then I don't think you need to do anything. It will automatically go through and as a check, the alien# matches. So, you will be fine, IMO.
