I-485 filed together, but spouse still pending.

I am the primary of the application. My case was approved on 3/18.Of course we have different I-485 receipt numbers. Spouse still holds F1 visa instead of changing to H4. We live in two states belonging to different INS regions. It is not normal that a couple don\'t get approved at the same time, anybody knows what might be the problem? Any suggestions for what to do next for such a case.

same case

RD-5/7, ND-7/6 for both spouse and myself. Spouse on H4.
Primary applicant approved on 3/4/02.
Wife still pending. No RFE yet. IIO told attorney ..processing Jan 2001 cases..
Kind of left without options..
 
F1 to 485

This is not to discourage you, but I read somewhere that F1 visa is based on purely non immigrant intents and so should not be filing for I485 while on F1 visa, did you check with your attorney before filing?
 
Where did you read it?

The lawyer didn\'t question about this at all. That is a big immigration firm, my company hires them to do all the immigration stuff. They should not be that stupid if the F-1 status is really a problem.
