I-485/EAD - question for dummies.

My 140 was apllied in the california INS center and is on the verge of clearance.
I work in a state which is under the Texas INS center jurisdiction.
Now, here are my questions for dummies:
1. When my 485 gets applied, where will the application be sent to?
2. will it be still sent to the CA INS center or will it be sent to my local INS office in my city and then subsequently sent to Texas INS?
3. If it is going to be sent to the Texas INS center, will it still take the same amount of time that it is taking for all Texas cases(i.e close to three years as of now) or because it came from CA will it take the CA INS processing time?
4. If my 485 gets filed when i am in this state under Texas jurisdiction, and i move to another state under different INS jurisdiction (say like wiscoonsin which is under Nebraska INS), what will be the repurcussions on my 485 ? Do i have to a transfer of 485 or something?
5. Also, the EAD that me and my wife are going to get, will it be applicable in all states irrespective of INS jurisdiction?

all responses appreciated.

Guys (Ginnu sir)
I am really desperate for responses to my questions. I have some choices before me regarding my job and hence i am desperate for answers. I am contracting as of now and my consulting firm is doing my GC, and at the same time the client is offering me permanent position. Work is junk though. And i am getting new exciting jobs from outside in non-texas areas. Assuming that I file for 485 from here and then accept a contract position elsewhere (without changing my consulting firm) to a non-texas state, what is the general process involved? what are the repurcussions?

I would really be grateful for all responses.

thanks a bunch
Rox

i485 is applied based on your residence (as opposed to i140, which is based on employer's location). so if at the time of application, you are in TSC jurisdiction, that's where your i485 will go, and will follow the course of adjudication that is normal for that service center.

you could potentially have a "care of" address in california, and file your i485 at CSC. your EAD/AP apps go wherever your i485 is being processed.

caveat emptor:
please consult with a qualified immigration attorney before making any decision.

This GC process is all FARCE . The job OFFER is just on paper. The employee can be outside of USA andd still can fly into USA for picking up his GC it is as simple as that. He need not work for the employer even for a single day and still get his GC.

READ the eta 750 a&b carefully it will be all clear.Lawyer have mastered this manipulated this whole GC process.
Thats all to it.

Pork Chop,

I dont think you are correct.

I-485 is employment based and if the company HQ is located in CA, you can apply thru CA INS. Many people do it that way.

I know someone who lives in Florida but applied thru Vermont because the company HQ is in Vermont.

He was approved and even has his passport stamped in Florida. His case was approved by Vermont INS.

Hope this information helps
