Do not expect the approval at the same time. I am in the similar situation,. My status has recently changed to "RFE issued" my wife is yet to get her second finger print notice.
Sorry buddy, after your approval, you will need to keep some suspense alive for sometime...

Most likely not. your case might get approved without being affected by your wife's case. I am in the same boat:
My case Dec'01, approved March'04
my wife's case May '02, not received 2nd FP yet.

Don't worry, there's no guarantee that it always gets approved at the same time even if you file together(1-2% cases). There might be a 30-60 days difference but in your case it might be more.
