i-485 checks cashed, so no RFE? or is there still a chance that they can RFE after they cashed the checks?

thanks

According to my attorney, if USCIS cashes your check, usually means that everything is fine, but you never know with them!

When they Cash the check it merely means your initial paperwork to file with the petition are in order.

Your lawyer had nothing better to tell you. USCIS can use the cash, so they cashing of the checks means that your petition has been accepted on preliminary basis, until an IO delve into it in more details to figure if all is proper, an RFE might follow. Educate yourself about this process and don't rely on your lawyer on everything.

You have it backwards. If they decide not to cash the checks, they'll just reject the application and you surely won't get an RFE.

He's only giving you advice because everyone knows lawyers aren't the most truthful people.

Hang out in the "__Month___ Filer" threads and youll see they cash your check almost immediately when they receive your paperwork and most RFE's dont come until several weeks later when they actually look into your case.
