Don't need to attach the following:
1. copy of degree certificate
2. Form I-134 (affidavit of support)
3. IRS 9003 form
4. blue Signature/FingerPrinting card for I-765
5. copy of pay stubs
6. copy of labor certificate
7. federal and state tax returns
8. latest bank statement
my understanding is that none of the above are needed. (employment letter and latest w2 is sufficient).

I am yet to receive my I-140 approval notice. Please correct me if I am wrong: the A number in the above forms will be taken from the I-140 approval notice.

(Sorry, I could not format the above list properly. Tab or spaces does not seem to work. Hopefully it is readable. I will post the final list later in proper format for everyone's benefit)

thanks to immi007, frodo and ty in pointing me in the right direction.

need form I-864

to file for support for wife.
also A no is alien number and not the number on I-140. I guess we do not get that unless we have GC. My view of course

Re: Alien number

(A) number is the number printed on the I-140 form. I know this because I saw it when I had to sign those 485 related forms.
But try to verify and get a second opinion.

I-864

Please correct me if I am wrong. My understanding is that Form I-864 is field for employment-based immigrants where the employer is my relative or I own part of my employer's company

From From I-864
Who Needs an Affidavit of Support under Section 213A?
All immediate relatives, including orphans, and
family-based immigrants. (Self-petitioning widow/ers
and battered spouses and children are exempt from this
requirement); and

Employment-based immigrants where a relative filed the
immigrant visa petition or has a significant ownership
interest (5 percent or more) in the entity that filed the
petition.

Can someone clarify on A number or Alient Registration number?

Thanks for your input ag28 and h1blayoff.

More info....

1. Leave all boxes that refer to A# blank. You'll get a new A# when you get your I-485 receipt. This # will be on all your other receipts like I765, I131, FP etc.

2. For Non-immigrant visa # in I485, provide the number in red, and not the control number.

3. Provide a one page summary of your non-immigrant history (dt visa/status issued, dates of entry, visa#, I94#s etc in a chronological order). This helps the adjucating officer to verify your legal status. I've seen this tip on other sites.

4. It is useful to provide copies of your passport (biographical page and visa) for I-765 & I-131 applications. These would most likely be adjudicated without you I-485 docs, and it is better to have your an extra of your passport with each of these applications.

5. You are correct about the docs that you don't have to include.

All the best.

Thanks...

frodo,

Thanks for your valuable input. For non-immigrant visa number, I thought I would put both numbers. Your point #2 clarified this. Also, I guess it makes sense to include non-immigrant history information.

Thanks a lot.
