Sorry for posting late. Our(wife and self) I-485 was approved on 4/16/2002 after interview at Seattle INS. Passport stamped(I-551) same day. Interview was total non-sense, din\'t ask anything. Don\'t know why they wasted their and our time.

Details: PD 10/1999; RD 10/2000; FP 3/2001; AD 4/2002
LIN : LIN-01-027-5****

Does anyone know how long it will take to get actual "green cards".
Does it depend on the local office ?? Someone said if 485 was approved after interview, cards usually come early like in 2 months. Is this true ?

Where do the cards come from ??

Hi,
  When was your case transferred to the INS Seattle Office? Were any reasons given for the transfer? Also did you receive any RFE\'s from the INS Nebraska center prior to your case being transferred to the Seattle Office.

I live in Seattle and some of my friends who have gotten their Passport Stamped had to wait for more than a year before receiving their actual Cards. Since the I-551 is stamped on a yearly basis, they went and had to restamp their passports.

RFE from my birth certificate in 12/2001, replyed in 01/2002.
case transferred to seattle office in 02/2002; got interview appointment for 4/16/2002 at Seattle INS. Done passport stamping at the same time.

my lawyer\'s guess is : INS suspected our marriage is fake as we got married months before filing 485, and my wife dropped her MS program in the middle after marriage(F1 -> H4), so she might be using marriage as a ruse to get Green card for her. But the officer doing interview realized my wife doesn\'t need to fake marriage for green card, so din\'t ask any questions (Wife is working for same employer and we are expecting a baby, i guess proof enough).
