I-485 Approved on 24 August 2009 still not receive card

Had my interview on August 2009 and received email on the same day saying
Current Status: Card production ordered.

On August 24, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

did not receive welcome notice updated by email but received the actual paper through USPS mail then on August 31

On August 31, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

until now it is 09/11/2009 still not receive letter. card.

Now it is 09/11/09 Friday still no letter no card no update what should I do still waiting until the period then make a phone call?????????
 
Yes I did receive a letter saying welcome to the united states of America I do not know if it is welcome letter or not but it does say we have approved your application of I-485 and will soon mail you the plastic card within 3 weeks stuff like that. the letter was received on 09/01/09

but I did not receive the email update saying the welcome letter was sent

so on the August 31 the approval notice was sent
I believe the approval notice is different letter not the welcome letter isn't it
 
I had interview on 24th august and received the card ordered email at the same day
so should I count from that day or the day I received the welcome letter which saying i will receive the card within the next 3 weeks. I worry about the USPS may lost the mail or misplace it to somebody else or the uscis has not mailed the card out how can i find out before the 30 period
 
Hey evey one why is my application taking forever, I sent it in March 2009 did not got any Bimetric appoitment till like August, Now my Biometic Code 3 is due Sep 15 Any idea when would i get my Green card thanks
 
I guess it depends on how lucky you are. I got Welcome Letter week after I got email, and then green card week after. Lately 2 weeks is usual time frame, but there are always exceptions. I'd be concerned if the post office messed up with the letter (I run into this issue with my foreign passport, unfortunately), that's why I really recommend to call or do Infopass and find out what's going on right after you hit 30 days (because otherwise they'll tell you to wait).
 
get an infopass, bring your letter and passport, and ask them to stamp it for prove of residency. With that stamp you can travel.
 
the thing is I do not need to travel right now or anytime soon I just want to know what is going on there USCIS uses First-class mail for all the receiver so it should not take more than 2 week to be received I think because I received the welcome letter after 6 days of my interview SO I worry about they sent out the card and somehow the usps messed up then I could be screwed I checked online I may have to pay $290+$80 dollars for the new card to be resent that would be the worst situation.
another thing IF I want to do the inforpass DO I have to wait for 30 days period or not I can do now
 
You already waited 30 days, so make the appointment now. Take your passport, I-485 receipt, and the welcome letter to the Infopass and ask them to stamp your passport. And of course, ask about the status of the card, whether it was produced, whether it was mailed, if it was mailed was it returned to USCIS, etc.

I get the the same LUD the same day u did ....and i recieve mt GC today. 09/14/2009
