I wasn't sure where to post this....so forgive me if I posted in the wrong section of the forum.
I already have my green card - but a few years ago while my I-130/I-485 was pending, I went to special registration and got a NTA because I had transferred schools without USCIS's permission.
A couple of years after the NTA issuance, an immigration judge dismissed the proceedings and about six months after that, I got my green card.
The thing is - that NTA issuance is still there on my FBI record....it shows up as follows:
Arrested or Recieved - Subject failed to maintain valid non-immigrant status (don't quote me on this, I don't have this thing in front of me)
This is causing me problems during employment background checks (FBI fingerprint background check)....is there anyway I can get this removed? I've talked to many lawyers but none of them seem to know what I'm talking about. Expungement lawyers tell me that they can't do anything or don't know what to do since this is not a criminal matter. I was never 'under arrest' (never restrained nor read my rights) at any point during the NTA issuance.
What can I do? Does anyone know anyone who can help? An attorney?
