Dear all:
I have not posted since I applied for NIW in August of 1998.
Today I received my I-485 approval from VSC.
Details of my case
I-140 (NIW): ND 9/1/98
I-140 approved: 12/18/98
I-485 ND: 4/5/99
Moved to another State in 6/1/99 to accept permanent employment
outside the VSC jurisdiction. Requested an address change and justified
the move.
Fingerprints done 3/3/00-Pittsburgh, PA. At this point VSC still had not changed my address, so I wrote another letter informing them of the change.
Received I-485 approval notice: July 31, 00 (no RFE)
VSC directed me to have passport stamped at the local INS office
close to where I work now ( and outside the VSC jurisdiction).
Fortunately my experience with VSC was very pleasant. I never had to call
and speak to an IIO. Things just went smoothly even if I did not have a lawyer. All I needed was an organized application from I-140 to the I-485
compiling all the requirements that INS wants.
