All of a sudden the I-485 application was approved with an approval notice email, but no further updates on the USCIS website or emails. Yesterday, the card showed up in the mailbox along with 2 identical copies of welcome notice
. There was no LUD after finger printing (code 3), since 11/20/2006
. Please see the signature file.
The derivative applicant had an RFE on I-485 (06/11/2007) for TB-skin test
(the application was originally submitted with the X-ray report alone as the applicant had TB skin test done in the last 3 years). Responded to RFE with TB-skin test and X-ray. Promptly, there was an update
(07/05/2007; LUD; RFE received, application process resumed; should receive approval or futher information within 60 days). But there was no further LUD since July 05, 2007
.
This forum is unassumingly great in sharing the application process and gives immense insight on writing recommendation letters and other details. Our application went through a professional immigration lawyer and previously had O1 visa. So was exposed to the process of recommendation letters and cover letters before.
Was just patient as i had O1 visa in hand. The derivative applicant was living with EAD. I had traveled abroad twice and never had any issues or problems at the border with the officer. But people, please try to carry all immigration related documents, including, pending I-485; approved I-140 (if you have); existing H1B or O1 approval; and if possible your employment letter and visiting card. Was asked to show one of the above or in combination on both the occasions of my return to US.
