I-485 Approval Estimate

Hello ...

As I read through the threads posted by fellow immigrants, I can't help but think it would probably take two years for I-485 to be approved. I was originally told by my immigration attorney that it's about a year, but I am seriously doubting that I would have an approval notice by January of next year (I filed my I-485 on 12/23/02 and NSC received it on 1/6/03).

What are your thoughts on NSC's turnaround time, folks?

I think the same. I'm thinking that maybe I have to wait till 09/2004 or 10/2004 and I think myself very lucky if i get within 2 years. Never know when these guys will change it from 2 years to 3 years.

Yeah, considering that there are few people out there who have beeing waiting for 2+ year, I hope my application would be adjudicated in two years or so.

Now, did you do your EAD renewal online? If so, did you send your supporting documents and what did you send?

Hard to say, but it's true

It is taking two years easy. My RD is Feb 02. I'm not expecting anything before 3/2004.

BCIS does not work using any science .... :mad:

The processing time greatly varies between 570 -----------> onwards number of days.

You can rest assured that you won't get it before 570 days (unless you are exremely LUCKY). I've heard about couple of guys getting approvals within 570 days but they don't form a majority.

I applied my EAD online. It has been more than 2 months now, no approval yet. I mailed the supporting documents in color copies of
my current EAD front and back,
my current paystubs,
my latest employment letter,
copy of all my I-94's,
receipt notice of I-485,
and the application form of the online application sheets with a stamp done by the people who took the picture at the photo processing place of BCIS in Detroit.
 
I just called BCIS today and they confirmed that it's taking 2 years on average to get I-485 approved at the Nebraska center. My receipt date is 12/14/01 and they told me to count on Dec-Jan timeframe for AP and to call after Feb if I don't get anything by then.

My first EAD expired 5/03. I applied for the new one on March 03. I received an RFE on July (Saying my pictures were distroyed, and they needed a new set of pictures). I Sent to attorney Today. I'm not in a hurry for this as I still have my H1 valid (so far!). I applied for new EAD for my wife and received an RFE for color copies of passport and/or DL. Well, We are waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting ....

Although I checked off the box that says I am not submitting any supporting documents for my EAD renewal, I submitted all the information that you have submitted to BCIS. Thanks for the information. Ginnu, the volunteer moderator, was also very helpful in determining what I should send.

Just finished with the biometric processing with ASC in Chicago. SInce the one in my area was not able to process biometric data, I had to go Chicago office to do it.

Anyway, thanks again for your help!
