Is it possible that INS can deny I485 approval if ones driving license was suspended for a while because of no payment of a ticket. The lincense was later reinstated after sending the required paperwork by the DMV.

Any input will be greatly appreciated and Thanks !

Very unlikely!

Morgangc12,

It is very very unlikely that a I-485 approval will get denied by USCIS based on an unpaid traffic ticket or an ordinary driving (speeding) violation. Those are considered civil or minor infractions and usually have no impact on GC processing.

I know of people who had multiple speeding tickets well before they got their GCs and it had no impact. As long as you were not driving drunk, killed somebody in an accident, or had other serious violations, you should be fine.

Do check with your lawyer if you have one, for an official word on this.

On the I-485 application you don't have to reveal traffic violations, unless they resulted in an arrest or criminal conviction. So I don't think you have to tell USCIS about it, and they probably won't find out. But of course, check with your lawyer.

I will check with the lawyer but the ticket was about not carrying proof of insurance. I got multiple tickets for that and I failed to pay one (I thought I already paid it). I sent them the proof that I had coverage at the time the ticket was issued and my driving priviliges were restored.

Thanks
