I-485 application lost at NSC

Hi

My I-485 package was sent to NSC on Nov 2nd and FEDEX tracking shows that it reached there Nov 3rd, 2006.
Was keeping track if my check gets cleared from my bank account. No
Called the customer service to enquire about my application on Dec 15th, 2006.

REceived a letter from NSC dated Dec 21 and the message is as follows

"We cannot find anything in our records about your application. If you have the cancelled checks or money orders, please send us a copies of both the front and back so we can research our records further. If the checks were not cashed then you will have to file again."

Since my checks were not cashed I have reapplied. According to FEDEX my application reached on Jan 5th 2007. Have not received anything from them and my checks have not cleared yet

Has anyone had similar experience?????

mine was filed on 11/2/06 and i kept calling the service center earlier this month.
it took me 80 days to get receipt notice.
it was unfortunate that your first application was lost.
give it a month or so for new application to be receipted.

I do not understand as why they sent me a letter saying that they do not have any information of my application on their records even though all along they had my package sitting in someones desk.

I am not sure if my or your calling the customer service helped things in any way, it just took its time. In my case they sent a letter without even checking if the application is with them and made me run around to get the whole package ready again (new original medical for me and my family, new checks etc). Still not sure what will happen once they come across my second package that I sent in January. Hope it does not create any confusion and delay my dates in any way

maybe you should cancel you check for 2nd 485.
they will not process if check is not cashed.
