I-485 and EB2 becoming current dates for ALL?

One of my friends read that in mid-NOV, USCIS is probably going to make the dates current for EB-2 category, so that people can apply I-485.

My lawyer probably also thinks this is true.

Has anyone else also read similar stuff.

If you are from India and China - I doubt it very much....the wait is gonna be long...

Only chance that EB2 may become current - is if any of the pending laws get approved and the EB annual quota is increases by 4 times or more...

otherwise - you are just misleading yourself...

The thinking behind the same is the fact is that the folks at I-485 (EB-2 category) dont have much applications to process and the people working their face possible termination of the contract.

So to increase the workload, the dates would become current.

Ofcourse the visa number thing would still be applicable.

China may become as it is only a year off.

For India, it is looooong way off. USCIS did not accept any thing beyond Jan 2003 since April 2006. This does not bode well for Eb-2 India becominng current. And remember EB-2 India became Unavailable for a month or so. The Visa number available would not be more than 2800 per year for this categary.

To me it looks like your friend's lawyer giving false though soothing information.

I totally support. There are tons of 2001/2002 EB2 pending labors are approving from back log centers. There is 100% chance of EB2 quota will be over very soon.
