hey guys, a few years ago i was pulled over here in FL and when i showed my valid out-of-state driver's license to the officer he told me that in the state of FL i was not supposed to drive a car without a FL driver's license more than 30 days even with a valid out-of-state license. so he gave me the ticket for driving with no driver's license, got my fingerprints and told me to show up at court with a valid FL license in order to dismiss the charge (i WAS NOT arrested). i simply couldn't legally obtain FL DL at that time, so i hired an attorney who represented me at the court and was finally charged 358$ fine, with no school or points.

so i'm going to file i-485 soon (based on a marriage to the U.S. citizen) and my question is how will that charge affect the process of applying for a green card? should i file anything about that case along with i-485? or just a police clearance letter?

On the I-485 the question about being arrested or charged specifically says "excluding traffic violations", so this won't affect your I-485 process and you don't have to mention it. Download the I-485 and look at the page 3 questions yourself.

However the citizenship application doesn't have that exclusion, so keep documentation of it until if/when you apply for citizenship, in case they want to see it. This won't stop you from becoming a citizen, but you could face a delay if you don't have the documentation to show them.
