I-485 after I-140 Approval

Hello

I am going to file EAD, AP and I-485 soon.
I have a 7-years old son. Should I apply EAD for my 7-years old son?

I asked the above question because my co-worker had an experience an immigration offficer asked him EAD for his daughter when he visited an INS office.
