All,

Can someone please help answer the following question? My wife is a student who just applied for her I-485 in Feb. 02 and is waiting for her receipt. She needs to attend a conference in Hawaii in May and my lawyer is saying that she cannot travel because she first has to get her advance parole. Hawaii is considered to be a US state...so why is there a need to get advance parole??

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

According to what you said, No, AP not needed. If the lawyer really said that and meant that, he/she should be fired right away.
