I entered in the US in 1998 and my wife filed the 245 under Pres. Clinton in March 2001. We had a visa but overstayed and in 2002 I hired some attorney who said I could start an application with sponsor because my visa was valid. That was not true. Imigration found me out of status so then started my removal proceedings in 2003 but my wife application was never approved my attorney filed a motion in 2013 for administrative closure. After my daughter, us citizen and borned in 2001 got 21 yrs old we started filing our I-130 in 2022 which was approved in the same year. But because I had "removal proceedings" still pending in court our attorney forgot to file a motion to finalize it and we proceeded with filing the I-485 in the beginning of 2023. By the end of 2023 I received a letter from the USCIS saying I should first finalize my removal proceeding before continue with the I-485 and the ask to reopen it. After filed the motion at the immigration court I was granted to proceed with the green card. I wrote a letter and attached the decision and mailed to the USCIS only in Nov 2024. My wife already got her green card but I am still waiting. Do you know how long it takes for them to review, reopen the I-485 and approveit ? I did it myself due to my financials.
