- What is the form number for an I-485 receipt?
Back in 1997, I filed an I-485 (adjustment of status) application and did not receive any proof or receipt that indicated I have filled an I-485.
In 2000, about almost 3 years later, I had my interview, where the INS officer gave me a copy of Form I-171 (Notice Of Approval Of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition).
- Is Form I-171 (Notice Of Approval Of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition) my receipt of the I-485?
If so, on Form I-171 (Notice Of Approval Of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition) there are two different dates on it.
First one is: Date Petition Filed
Second one is: Date Of Approval Of Petition
1) What are the differences between these two dates?
2) Which one of these above date is the one when my I-485 got approved?
3) When my I-485 got approved, was this the date I became a Permanent Resident? Or is it when my passport was stamped with I-551?
