I-485 abandoned as fingerprint not received

I need some help on my issue with immigration(Green Card).

I had got my first fingerprint notice sometime in Nov 2001 after applying for I485. As I was not married I had asked for a postponement of my fingerprint notice.

I got a second fingerprint notice sometime in July 2002 and I had time till sep 2002 to get the finger print done. My attorney wrote a letter asking for postponement as I was about to
go on vacation to India.

I recently got married on Dec 15 2002 on my vacation to India and just returned on dec 23 2002.

I just got a notice from USDOJ stating that my application to register Permanent Resident or
Adjust Status(From I-485) has been denied due to failure to appear for fingerprinting.
The INS has no record that you appeared for fingerprinting as requested. Accordingly, your application is deemed abandoned and denied under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(13).

My wife is supposed to join me after getting her passport and H4 passport done in India and will probably join by end of Feb 2003.

I really need to know if there is any way to appeal and appear for finger print for myself and later add my spouse medical and fingerprint to my current I-485?

Please advise.
Any comments appreciated

The main mistake you did is not getting enough information about I485 process. As long as your 485 is not approved and you have a valid H1 you can bring your wife and apply her 485.
I really don't have any idea about your situation. Wait for any suggestion from all these gurus. Hope things will settle down.
