Your mother filing for you would be fastest, but exactly how fast depends on your age and marital status -could be anywhere from 1 to 13 years.

I am 32yrs old and unmarried currently working in Bahrain, also can the process be done while I'm away from my country of birth

Yes it can be done away from your country of birth. Will be probably 6-7 years, assuming you stay unmarried; will go up to around 13 years if you get married. A sibling visa would be about 14 years, but (to be blunt, depending on age/health of parent) might be a good back-up option to have.

The time frames are that long wow I thought maybe around 2yrs only

How long does it take for the filing to be approved, I understand waiting for the visa is what takes time right?

Yes, approval can take a while (depending on visa category even a few years) but the wait for you will be for your priority date to become current. Even if approval takes a few years, it will have happened well before your PD is current.

You can find form processing times here, they vary depending on center and category under which the visa is being filed. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

If you look at the latest visa bulletin, first table, you can see that currently for F2B (over 21 single son/daughter of USC) applicants from 1 Jun 2014 and earlier currently have visas available- so it has actually a little over 5 years wait at the moment. The wait time does fluctuate over time - for example in February this year they were only issuing visa for cases filed by Feb 2012.
